HISTORY

In 1976, Japanese mining society and the Japanese government founded the Metallic Mineral Products Stockpiling Center, which was the former organization of JMEC, to maintain stable imports of metallic mineral commodities from developing countries by stockpiling.
In 1991, the organization changed its name to Japan Mining Engineering Center for International Cooperation (JMEC) with the additional task of discovering international cooperation projects concerned with mining and geological survey.
