The Research and International Cooperation Department consists of the Resource Research Section and the Stockpile Research Section, and conducts the following surveys and research as its main business with the aim of contributing to the stable securing of mineral resources.

・Survey on the existence of metal minerals

・Survey on the supply and demand, prices, etc. of metal mineral products

・Survey research on the stockpiling of metal mineral products

● Mineral Exploration Division

The Mineral Exploration Division conducts research on the existence of metal minerals, surveys on the supply and demand of metal minerals, trends in prices, etc., as well as consignment work such as information collection on mineral resources and wide-area geological surveys conducted by JOGMEC and JICA.

(1) Investigation of existence of metal mineral products

A survey team was dispatched to areas where metal minerals are present, and basic data collection on metal minerals was carried out.

(2) Investigation of trends in metal mineral products supply and demand, prices, etc.

Conducted various domestic and international surveys on trends in the supply and demand, prices, etc. of metal mineral products such as copper, lead, and zinc, and collected and analyzed information.

(3) Consignment business

By efficiently and effectively utilizing the human resources of the Center, we carry out consignment projects such as wide-area geological surveys with high public interest.

● Metals Stockpile  Division

The Metals Stockpile Division conducts research on the stockpiles of metal mineral products. Specifically, we conduct various domestic and international surveys on trends in supply and demand, prices, etc. of metal ore products, including new rare metal ingots, and collect, organize, and analyze information. In addition, we conduct inventory surveys with domestic rare metal producers and users as supporting members, and support the national stockpiling system implemented by the government from the private side.
